Unit Plan: The OceanModified Lesson Plans
|
This particular unit is for a first grade class, the students will be learning about the Ocean. This grid serves as a map for the entire unit, which is 10 days. The students will be doing various activates that teach them about the different elements in the Ocean. I learned that by organizing your units you are able to stay on task and it can be used as a helpful reference.
This is a science lesson from the unit topic of environments and organisms. The students spent a week learning various water and land habitats. This lesson involved the use of a video, powerpoint, and had students use higher order thinking skills to analyze pictures.
Students were covering the unit of the American Revolution. This lesson had students compare and contrast a Patriot vs Loyalist. Students analyzed the difference in opinions, facts and physical aspects of each group of people. Worksheet
Fifth grade SEI students needed a remedial lesson for adding proper punctuation in their TELPAS writing samples. I starting off with reviewing commas then, went onto adjectives and adverbs. Making this lesson clear and to the point allowed the students to see good examples of sentences and it required them to construct complete sentences independently. Here is the Powerpoint I used.

Web 2.0 Tool
|
Puzzlemaker is a program for teachers to create any type of educational puzzle. This step by step instructional manual can be used as a guide when creating for the first time. The website is user friendly and the puzzles take minutes to create. This TEASe video will introduce students to the subject of Culture. It will get the students interested in a the new unit by showing culture throughout pop culture. It incorporates movie clips, images of cartoons characters and real children. The purpose of this video was to show students that culture can be seen in the media but that it also includes them as individuals.
This packet includes a week full of science activities that are based on scientific process skills such as measurement, hypothesis, etc. The fun thing about this unit is that students would use various types of gummy candy in all of their investigations.

Copyright Powerpoint |
By conducting research about the rules and regulations about copyrights, I am better informed as a future teacher. This assignment taught me that I must hold myself accountable and not just my students, in order to understand the regulations when using someone else's work.
